Jean Renoir's La Règle du Jeu and  Sergei Eisenstein's Battleship Potemkin are in joint second place, followed by Federico Fellini's 8½, with Michelangelo Antonioni's L'Avventura and Ingmar German's Persona in joint fifth place.
