| Tartans of the Scottish Clans and Woman Draped in Patterned Handerkchiefs George Albert Smith | 1906 and 1908 | 1 min 36 secs and 45 secs Two test films for the two-colour film process that G A Smith was close to finalising. The first shows an abundance of reds and greens, these being the two colours used by the system, and was filmed in the year when the patent was applied for. The second was shot around the time the first public demonstrations of the technology began. These were probably filmed outside Laboratory Lodge, Smith's home and workshop behind Roman Crescent, Southwick. The woman may be his wife, Laura Bayley, or one of her sisters. |
