Four years after its pioneering Optacord 500, the German consumer electronics manufacturer Loewe announced its Optacord 600 video recorder, billed as a 'home entertainment centre'. This was one of the earliest home video recorders (perhaps even the first?) to be included in a console—a concept later tried by Cartrivision but which never caught on in this form.
        The console was due to be marketed in the USA in 1966 by the Video-Medical Electronics Corporation (a company of which nothing is known) with a selling price of around $2,500. It is not believed to have progressed beyond the prototype stage.
