• Amos 'n' Andy (WMAQ Chicago for NBC Blue Network, from 19 March).
Comedy, featuring Freeman Gosden and Charles Correll, who
had previously broadcast a similar show as Sam and Henry on Chicago's WGN station.
• Dodge Variety Hour (NBC from 4 January). Early variety show. The first edition, starring Will Rogers, Al
Jolson and the Paul Whiteman Orchestra, costs $67,000 to produce.
• The Voice of Firestone (from 24 December, 20:00). Classical and light classical
music. The start of a long weekly run; the start time is put back by 30 minutes in 1931.
