Television sets 1938

Television receivers are now being offered through the rental chain as an alternative to outright purchase, which, despite falling prices, is still beyond the means of most consumers. In later years, rental was a significant factor in the rapid spread of television in the UK, not least in areas of poor reception that were served by cable relay services.
Once again, the term 'large screen' is relative: the normal size is 10 inches, the largest 12 inches.
